Formal drawings: $250

When the design application is allowed, the USPTO will require another fee, termed an Issue Fee, in the amount of $430.

Often a design patent will be allowed without a rejection or objection from the patent examiner. When there is a reason for delaying allowance of the application, often that can be handled with a telephone call to or from the examiner. Therefore, the cost for a response is usually minimal.
Time to Obtain a Design Patent
Because the application is much more simple and the examination process is also much less involved, the time for a design patent to be allowed and issued might be expected to be less than 18 months.
